🌿 Vocal for Local – Activity Report

Aim of the Activity

To encourage students to recognize, appreciate, and promote locally made products, thereby fostering self-reliance and support for the community.

Activity Plan

  • Students were divided into groups.
  • Each group selected local items (
  •  Household items (soap, paste, detergent, handmade cleaners).
  •  Food items (local ghee, spices, jaggery, pickles).
  •   Handicrafts & art (toys, paper crafts, clay, bamboo, cloth bags).
  • Group 4 → Health & wellness (herbal products, ayurvedic oils, natural remedies).
  • Students created small models, charts, and slogans to represent the importance of these items.
  • Each group came forward to demonstrate and explain their chosen products.
  • Discussions were held comparing local vs. branded products in terms of quality, affordability, and eco-friendliness.

Learning Outcomes

  • Students understood the value of local resources and their role in strengthening the economy.
  • They learned the importance of self-reliance (Aatmanirbhar Bharat).
  • Enhanced communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
  • Developed awareness of sustainability and eco-friendly choices.
Moral Lesson: Supporting local products is not just a choice, it is our responsibility towards society, environment, and the nation.
Takeaway for Students: Be proud of using and promoting Indian-made products. Encourage family and community members to choose local over imported. Small steps by each citizen can make a big difference in building a self-reliant India.
